WK must had forty points tonight on 50% shooting. The full repertoire of open threes and hand-in-his-face circus bombs. Just silly shooting all night. Mostly swishes, from incredible distances. A number of nice layups too.
Despite his efforts, we lost 101-71. We could have played better, but not by much. Our opponents were massive and fast. And skilled. And young. Except for two of them, they all looked like they worked out with weights. The kind of guys you have to foul every time in the paint, relying on the referee to miss some calls. Thanks to great shooting from everybody, we hung with them for a while. We got up 14-4, but then fell behind 40-36 late in the first half. They managed to make it a ten-point margin by intermission.
By mid-second half it seemed that for every basket of ours, they put in two. Still, it was fun. And, as Jeff said on the ride home, playing a team like that can only make us better.
